由于若干因素，桌面团队针对硬件加速所写的工作分项包长时间以来都只是作为旁支存在着，现在终于并入到主线 build 中发布了。
此版本对于 Mac 用户来说会特别爽，Mac 用户会发现字体显示有明显改进，因为现在 Mac 版 Opera 除了字体管理，会在很多地方用到 Apple Core Text API。
另外，在桌面团队 blog 发布本次更新的 Tommy A. Olsen，将要离开 Opera 了。“自从我们 2006 年开了这个 blog ，和你们，我们的用户之间的沟通有了非常显著的改善。这个星期，是我在 Opera 的最后一个星期，也是时候再启程了。引用我前同事 Wilhelm 的一句话：再见，并感谢所有的 bug。”

从上个版本开始，不知道是不是更新不太彻底，有时候关闭的时候或者看flash看了一半还会出现pure virtual function call的错误，myopera上也看到很多人有这样的反应 :eek:
这个版本依旧继承上个版本的问题了
在地址栏下拉框，点击右侧的叉号删除输入过的网址记录时，依旧崩溃。
